You see, the real long-term benefits of OIOpublisher aren't just it's ad management capabilities; that's just the starting point. I don't like one
dimensional, static systems, and I'm willing to bet neither do you. After all, isn't the real aim of all online entrepreneurs, is to be able to
produce multiple revenue streams?
»»» Don't just rely on ads. Don't even just rely on direct monetisation «««
Take a quick look at the ways OIOpublisher is already being expanded; the last 2 being a result of partnerships. Once completed, these features
will add new strings to a blogger's bow that you simply won't get anywhere else:
Thinking outside the box is important here, and that's why I've come up with a new concept to enable bloggers, as well as budding editors, to
monetise their content, without relying on ads! Users will be able to create their own niche publications, using articles from OIOpublisher content
owners (with permission granted through the plugin), in combination with editorials to link items together.
Revenue will be generated via ad / subscription revenue, and shared between content owners. Just as journalists write for newspapers, so bloggers
will be able to do for DigiZines.
Built on OIO's unique social conversation system, Blogoffs will involve injecting conversation search results of participating blogs with an
unknown topic from a seed blog. The participants would then have a set period of time to make a reply. The best article would be chosen via social
voting, or a panel of judges.
The winner would then proceed onto the next round of the competition, eventually culminating in a BlogOff Champion. The aim is to find the best
writers, not the most popular bloggers!
There are innovative people all over the world, and none more so than Hyder, with his new startup wpauctions.com. After some discussion, we
realised that our 2 systems could be integrated to allow the auctioning of ads / digital products via Hyder's auctioning widget, with the management
and distribution then automatically handled by OIO.
A powerful combination that will add a new level of exposure and functionality for OIOpublisher.
This is one area in which OIO is still weak - regular income for the small blogger. To address this issue, a proposal was made by Colin of
ViralKing.com for an addon that would work in conjunction with private sales. Inventory from a CPC network would be used to fill spaces, where a
private sale had not been made.
Colin and myself are currently putting together a unique blog-centred ad network, that is fully integrated with OIO, and will ensure that
bloggers of all sizes can start off on the right foot. It will also be a standalone tool for bloggers to use to display relevant ads.
